London is full of dog-friendly pubs and huge parks, and dogs ride the Tube and most trains. Getting there takes real planning, because pets cannot fly in the cabin into the UK. We plan that route with you, then give you a week of parks, pubs and the river.
Where you stay
A pet-friendly hotel near Hyde Park
Getting there
An approved airline cargo route, or a flight to mainland Europe and a crossing by car on a ferry or Le Shuttle
Best time to go
May to September for long park days. Pack a raincoat for everyone
Best for
Calm city dogs and cats who handle trains and crowds
Your trip, day by day
A sample plan. Yours is fitted to every pet in your group: size, breed, age and energy.
Day 1
Arrive and rest
Morning
Arrival day, with your pet's route planned to the hour.
Afternoon
Check in near Hyde Park and take a short walk to stretch everyone's legs.
Evening
Dinner at a nearby pub that welcomes dogs.
Pet tip: After a long trip, keep the first day short and quiet.
Day 2
Royal parks
Morning
Walk Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens before the crowds.
Afternoon
Pub lunch with your dog under the table.
Evening
An evening stroll along the Serpentine lake.
Pet tip: Some park areas ask for dogs on a lead. We mark them on your map.
Day 3
South Bank and Tower Bridge
Morning
Walk the Thames path from Westminster toward Tower Bridge.
Afternoon
Lunch at a dog-friendly cafe on the river.
Evening
Watch the bridge light up, then head back on the Tube.
Pet tip: Dogs ride the Tube for free, but you must carry them on escalators.
Day 4
Hampstead Heath
Morning
Let your dog run on the open hills of the Heath and take in the view from Parliament Hill.
Afternoon
A late lunch in Hampstead village.
Evening
A quiet night in. Big park days tire dogs out.
Pet tip: Bring a towel. The Heath ponds and mud find every dog.

Day trip to Windsor
Morning
Take the train to Windsor. Dogs ride free on most UK trains.
Afternoon
Walk the Long Walk in Windsor Great Park.
Evening
Train back and dinner near the hotel.
Pet tip: Pack water and a collapsible bowl for the train.
